Multiparty Democracy Commission (MDC)
The creation of a Multiparty Democracy Commission (MDC) will see to the regulation and facilitation of political parties. As a regulatory body, the MDC will be responsible for monitoring, administering and ensuring that political parties operated within stipulated regulations. The MDC will be mandated to sanction the parties for stepping out of line with inappropriate behavior For example, this would impose checks and balances on our two major political parties who are currently too powerful and have the ability to do what they like. The commission will scrutinize the operations of the political parties in the districts to ensure that they remain accountable to the electorate and people in the districts. The commission will also ensure that the parties become development oriented by holding annual policy conferences. Corrupt practices will be curbed through a stringent monitoring and assessment system in place.
