Who We Are
The IDEG is a development and governance solutions think-tank established in Ghana in 2000. The institute strategically focuses on policy research, advocacy, interface capacity building and deployment, and knowledge networking. It has designed and implemented several projects successfully across the country.

IDEG has worked with several national and international CSOs, Government Ministries, Departments and Agencies, the Presidency, Parliament, and the Judicial Service of Ghana on a broad range of democracy and development policy issues. The Institute has led in introducing several innovative programs including the Governance Issue Forum Concept as a framework for promoting participatory bottom-up democracy in Ghana at the local level; the Civic Forum Initiative, a coalition of 18 CSOs engaged in promoting peaceful and credible elections, good governance, democracy, poverty reduction, and social development; and the Presidential Elections Peace Pact which commit Presidential candidates to the eradication of electoral violence, impunity, and injustice in Ghana’s multi-party democracy. IDEG also has the Civil Society Elections Situation Room that promotes efficient management of the electoral processes, maintains peace through full compliance of the rule of law.
